Effects of Not Paying Dues

  • If dues are not paid by a club, they will no longer be allowed to participate in annual district events like Fall Rally or the District Convention.
  • Clubs and club members will not have the opportunities for scholarships or running for district level positions.
  • If dues are not paid by February 1st, their status will become suspended
  • If dues are not paid by October 1st the following year, the club will then become inactive
  • Key Club International will typically revoke a club’s charter after 2 years of no payment. If a charter is revoked, they will have to pay a fee and an additional chartering fee.

Where do dues go?

The international dues ensure resources for all members, advisors, and clubs:

  • Resources: Club opening, chartering, and member invitations.
  • Training Materials: District and club officer training.
  • Support: For districts and divisions.
  • Official Website: Key Club website and social media.
  • Email Updates: Weekly updates to Key Club members and advisors.
  • Opportunity Fund: Provides grants to clubs for service projects.
  • Magazine: Key Club magazine (fall edition in September, spring edition in March).
  • Convention Planning: International convention.
  • Awards: District and club awards.
  • Insurance: Liability insurance.
